How Cellulaze Gets Rid of Cellulite

Cellulaze

Finally, there's a longer-lasting, one-time treatment that is clinically proven to reduce the appearance of cellulite. It's a unique laser treatment called Cellulaze that attacks the very structure of cellulite.

Cellulaze works because it goes beneath the skin to attack the root of the cellulite problem. Patients see results in just a few weeks after the minimally-invasive procedure, with relief from the dimpled look of cellulite continuing to appear for a few months.

Cellulaze Minimally-Invasive Cellulite Treatment

During the Cellulaze procedure at our Birmingham, Alabama Cosmetic Surgery practice, a small cannula (or surgical tube) is inserted underneath the skin. The cannula contains a laser fiber that delivers laser energy to the dermis. The laser energy increases skin depth and quality while releasing the fibrous bands that pull down on the skin. It also diminishes pockets of fat that bulge through the fibrous bands and promotes the formation of new collagen.

There is little discomfort and minimal side effects associated with the Cellulaze treatment. Patients are treated with a local anesthetic to numb the areas that will be treated. Patients may feel slight pressure or a warming sensation in and around the areas to be treated, but these are mild sensations. Patients are able to talk with the doctor during the procedure because they are awake and not sedated.

A Cellulaze treatment usually takes from 1 to 2 hours and is performed in the offices of Hedden & Gunn Plastic Surgery as an outpatient procedure. Most patients can resume their normal activities in a day or two following their Cellulaze procedure. Some swelling and soreness may be experienced. Scars are barely noticeable because the incision sites are very small.

Cellulaze works best for women who are not significantly overweight, but have mild to moderate cellulite on their thighs. The treatment produces some immediate results, with final results apparent in 3 to 6 months.
