Cellulaze Frequently Asked Questions

Laser Cellulite Reduction FAQs
How do I know Cellulaze really works?
Cellulaze is backed by 2 years of clinical research. Studies have shown that it increases the thickness of your skin by 25% and the elasticity of your skin by 29% — significant claims that haven't been made by any other treatments. Thicker and more elastic skin can help flatten and smooth your skin's surface to improve the appearance of cellulite.
How many Cellulaze treatments are required to achieve the desired results?
Only one treatment is usually necessary. You will see some immediate results, but final results won't be apparent for 3 to 6 months. There are exceptions to every rule, but unless there are very large areas that need to be treated, one procedure provides excellent results.
How long do the results last?
You'll see some improvement right away with optimal results apparent between 3 to 6 months. Since new collagen is formed in the areas treated with Cellulaze and the structures under the skin are altered, results are lasting. Clinical studies have shown results can last for 1 year or more. However, it's important to maintain a healthy diet and exercise regimen to continue to enjoy the excellent results.
How does Cellulaze work?
A very small cannula (a tube about the size of the tip of a pen) is inserted beneath the skin. The unique SideLight™ laser fiber inside the tube then delivers energy directly to the treatment area. This increases the depth and quality of your skin while simultaneously releasing the fibrous bands that pull it down, minimizing the "orange peel" look associated with cellulite. Finally, the laser is used to diminish the lumpy pockets of fat that protrude though the fibrous bands under your skin.
How long does the procedure take?
On average, the Cellulaze procedure takes from 1 to 2 hours, depending on the size of the areas to be treated. Cellulaze is an in-office procedure performed under local anesthesia.
What does the procedure feel like?
Because the area is numbed with local anesthesia, there is minimal discomfort during the Cellulaze procedure. You may feel a light pressure. Following a Cellulaze treatment, you may experience some soreness, but will be able to resume your normal activities in a day or two.
Are there any side effects?
Cellulaze is a minimally-invasive surgical procedure. There will be some swelling after the treatment and a little soreness. Since Celluaze is a minimally-invasive laser treatment, incision sites are very small and there is little bleeding during the procedure. Most patients are able to return to their normal activities within a couple of days. Some fluid may leak out of the incision sites following the procedure.
Does Cellulaze cause scarring?
The incision sites are very small. With proper care, any scars will be barely noticeable. Our physicians will evaluate your skin type and provide the best information on scar prevention.
How do I know if Cellulaze is right for me?
